Part-time Instructional Technology Specialist

The Instructional Technology Specialist is a part time position responsible for providing support to instructional technology users and working collaboratively to improve the quality of instruction. This position reports directly to the Director, Distance Education and Instructional Technology.
Responsibilities:
Provide specialized training for various instructional technologies
Research instructional technology for application in different disciplines
Assist in developing and implementing an instructional technology plan
Increase faculty awareness of instructional technology tools including those available from the system office
Work collaboratively with instructional technology users to identify uses for technology and assist in implementing technologies
Foster a campus culture that embraces instructional technology
Build relationships with IT and other technology users across campus to maximize resource utilization
Research emerging instructional technologies and recommend options
Participate in department meetings
Attend College meetings
Serve on College committees as appropriate
Perform other tasks as assigned that support the mission and initiatives of the College
Qualifications Required:
Education (must be from a regionally accredited institution):
Bachelor's degree (preferably in instructional technology or related field)
Experience:
Knowledge of and experience with web 2.0 collaborative tools.
Knowledge of and experience with web conferencing software.
Knowledge of and experience with lecture capture software.
Knowledge of and experience with interactive whiteboards.
Knowledge of and experience with Moodle or other learning management systems.
Skills:
Skill in the use of computers and commitment to using technology
Familiarity with MS Office
Familiarity with recording, video editing tools, video file types, and uploading to the web (i.e. YouTube).
Ability to research and learn technology effectively
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others
Ability to provide leadership in anticipating and responding to change
Familiarity with and appreciation for the mission of a comprehensive community college

Qualifications Preferred:
Master's Degree in Instructional Technology or related field from an accredited institution.
3-5 years' experience as an instructional technologist or equivalent position.
Experience with Blackboard Collaborate.
Experience with MediaSite video software.
Experience with SMART software and hardware.
Experience training faculty in a group and individual setting.
Experience using SoftChalk.
Teaching experience in higher education setting.

Summary:
ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
Salary Range:
$19.00 - $20.25 per hour based on candidate's experience, education, and the state budget

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
