Adjunct Faculty, Electronics Engineering Technology

Position available is on campus for a day/evening hybrid class which has a face-to-face class time with an online component.
The Adjunct Faculty, Electronics Engineering Technology provides designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; student recruitment, advisement and retention; developing and evaluating courses, programs and services; participating in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean, School of Business, Engineering and Technical Studies.

Responsibilities:
Promotes College mission, values, and vision
Teaches assigned courses on the main campus and at satellite locations to meet program needs including, but not limited to, day, evening, weekend, and distance courses
Evaluates student progress and provides appropriate feedback
Develops course syllabi and provides appropriate written information to students concerning course evaluation and criteria
Advises students in academic and employment planning
Recommends appropriate textbooks and other instructional materials
Carries out a program of self-evaluation to determine and maintain instructional effectiveness
Assists in the evaluation of courses and programs
Prepares and submits instructional records, reports, and grades established by institutional policy
Attends College meetings
Serves on College committees
Assists in student recruitment and retention, including College-wide marketing initiatives
Assists in the development of institutional policies and regulations
Maintains contacts with business, industry, and professional organizations for the purpose of keeping instructional programs current with advances in occupational or academic field
Assists in curriculum development and revision, including distance courses where appropriate
Updates course materials on an ongoing basis to maintain teaching quality based on current research and best practices
Maintains appropriate office hours and accessibility for students, faculty and staff
Assists in maintaining appropriate library materials for instructional area
Assists in management of resources such as equipment and budget
Assists in the development of course schedules
Assists in orientation and mentoring of new faculty members
Serves as an advisor or sponsor of student clubs or organizations where appropriate
Participates in College and school level planning and development
Assists in the advisory committee process
Assists in the development of promotional materials
Participates in professional development to enhance instructional and technical skills
Assists in maintaining lab equipment and maintains a clean and safe environment for students
Performs other tasks as assigned that support initiatives of the College

Qualifications Required:
Associate's Degree from regionally accredited institution in Electronics Engineering Technology or closely related field
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in an advanced manufacturing setting
Willingness to teach hybrid and online courses
Creativity and openness to change
Strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team environment

Qualifications Preferred:
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in a related field
Teaching experience in a community college or post-secondary education setting
Significant industry experience/training with PLC's and robotics
ISA certification in Automation

Summary:
ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment in the collection, evaluation, and analysis of data, and student assessment, curriculum development, and program review. Other requirements include ease of mobility in supervising students in classroom/lab settings, carrying supplies and other instructional materials, ability to move, climb, or crawl under equipment, use of keyboard, effective use of all forms of communication (oral, written, visual, auditory), and the ability to perform general teaching and office duties and travel to other campus locations.

Salary Range:
$26.41 per hour based on candidate's experience, education, and the state budget

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
